BlueSolar MPPT 150/70-Tr is an MPPT solar charge controller with screw terminals that collects the energy from the photovoltaic panels and stores it in the batteries. It has a rated charge current of 70 A, a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 150 V and a maximum efficiency of 98 %, for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V batteries (automatic selection). It communicates via VE.Direct.
MPPT technology tracks the maximum power point extremely fast: by constantly monitoring the voltage and output current of the solar panels, it extracts the available energy. The advantage is most noticeable when the sky is partly cloudy and the light intensity changes constantly. For the controller to start, the PV voltage must exceed Vbat + 5 V; after that, the minimum PV voltage is Vbat + 1 V.
Remote monitoring and control are done by attaching a VE.Direct to Bluetooth Smart dongle and pairing it with a smartphone or another device through the VictronConnect app (iOS and Android). If the installation is connected to the internet through a GX device, the Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal is available; for installations without an internet connection, the GlobalLink 520 device can be used. The charge algorithm is fully programmable and eight preprogrammed algorithms are available, selectable with a rotary switch.
Protections include over-temperature, with power reduction at high temperature, short circuit, PV reverse polarity and PV reverse current. The internal temperature sensor compensates the absorption and float voltage according to temperature.
