LiFePO4 batteries are the safest lithium ion batteries on the market. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V, unlike 2V for acid batteries, so a 12.8V battery contains 4 cells connected in series, and a 25.6V battery contains 8 cells connected in series.

It is not necessary for a LiFePO4 battery to be fully charged. The lifetime of such a battery should be improved in the case of a partial charge rather than a full one, this being the great advantage over acid batteries.

Other advantages are the large temperature ranges in which it can work, excellent performance in the number of cycles, low internal resistance and high efficiency, which is 92%.

Cell voltages, temperature, and error status can be monitored via Bluetooth, which is very useful for locating a potential problem, such as cell imbalance.
