EVS BMS - Battery management system for OEM automotive batteries

EVS BMS is a battery management system (BMS) developed by Engovis Limited as an evolution of SimpBMS, compatible with several types of OEM automotive batteries. It has two configurable CAN buses, an OBD2 interface and an enclosure with IP67 protection.

EVS BMS is compatible with the following OEM batteries: VW E-Golf, VW GTE, VW ID3 and ID4 (MEB) modules 12S and 8S, BMW Hybrid gen 1 (9 kWh) and gen 2 (12 kWh), BMW i3, Mitsubishi Outlander, Chevy Volt generation 1 and Tesla Model S/X. Tesla Plaid and Tesla Model 3 modules are not supported.

The product controls the 12 V contactors, monitors the fuse and the HVIL loop, and operates in a 12 V automotive environment. All inputs have reverse-voltage and overvoltage protection. The 12 V outputs are limited to 1.5 A continuous and 10 A peak, and the low-side outputs have a flyback diode for PWM control of a coil.

The generated data is available through the CAN bus and through the OBD2 protocol, compatible with applications such as Torque Pro. Configuration is done through the CAN bus, with a dedicated adapter and software. It is not a plug and play system, and installing the system is the user's responsibility.
