PSC300A is a SOFAR communication box for PV plants, in an outdoor IP66 enclosure. It collects inverter data over PBUS or RS485 and sends it to the monitoring system over Ethernet or optical fibre; it has 2 anti-PID modules and AC type II surge protection.
The box integrates a main power-line communication module (CCO), an industrial ring switch for the optical fibre ring, an RS485 communication module, a CH1000 Control Hub, the PID modules and a surge protector. It collects data from inverters, the transformer, environment monitors and meters over PBUS or RS485 and sends it to the plant monitoring station over a fibre-optic ring; supported protocols are MODBUS-TCP, IEC 103, IEC 104 and IEC 61850.
The anti-PID function compensates the PV modules of the connected inverters at the same time, and the earthing cable of the PID module output must be connected to the transformer earth bar with a reliable earth. The box supports local and remote firmware upgrades, active and reactive power dispatch and local web configuration. It operates from -30 to 60 °C and up to 4000 m altitude.
