Pylontech LV-HUB is a CAN / RS485 communication hub for connecting several groups of 48 V Pylontech batteries (US2000, US3000, US2000C, US3000C, UP5000, US5000) in parallel. Pylontech LV-HUB is a CAN / RS485 communication hub for energy storage systems with several groups of 48 V Pylontech batteries connected in parallel. It is powered at 48 V DC from an external adaptor, has the format of 19-inch rack equipment (44 mm high) and ingress protection IP20.
Over CAN, one hub connects up to 6 groups of US2000C, US3000C, UP5000 or US5000 batteries, each group having at most 16 modules. For the US2000 and US3000, each group can have at most 8 modules and the hub connects at most 5 groups. With several hubs on CAN, the manual states up to 25 groups; with US2000 and US3000, up to 200 modules can be reached.
Connecting several US5000 groups over RS485 does not require an LV-HUB. Each pair of power cables carries at most 100 A continuously, and a suitable protection device is required between the battery system and the inverter. The protocols are Pylon low-voltage V1.2 on CAN (500 kbps) and V3.1 on RS485 (9600 or 115200 bps).
The hub has an on/off switch, an RJ45 CAN input port, eight RJ45 ports numbered 0 to 7 for the battery groups, an RS232 debug port, the 48 V DC power input, LED indicators for the number of connected groups and a reset button. The working temperature is -20 ... 60 °C and the service life is 15 years. For paralleling several Fidus groups, the datasheet requires an LV-HUB.
